Wild Atlantic Way art sale on behalf of Enable Ireland.

Enable Ireland is looking for artists based along the West coast of Ireland, or whose work features scenes from the Wild Atlantic Way, to donate a painting or print for and Online Art Sale on 16th November 2020. These are difficult times for artists, but also for charities. If you would be willing to offer a framed or unframed painting / print, you’re support would be greatly appreciated. “SEA FEVER” the inaugural exhibition of our Wild Atlantic Art Group will open at the Russell Gallery, New Quay, Co. Clare on 2nd July 2016.

The exhibition will feature the work of 10 seascape artists, and will run for 4 weeks.

Wild Atlantic Exhibitions

Autumn League HYC 2013

“Chasing the Elemental” Seascapes by Paul Douglas

I’ll be exhibiting a selection of 24 of my seascapes in Howth Yacht Club, Dublin next weekend. The exhibition opens at 7.30pm on Friday 12th September and will run over the weekend to coincide with the launch of the 2014 Autumn League. The show will feature boats from the club.

Mike Flannery from Galway is the featured artist on Marine Art Ireland for April / May 2014.

Mike is a keen angler and his lifelong love of the sea is evident in his dramatic seascapes. His paintings show a great awareness of the dynamics of wind and waves and a bold approach to colour and form.

Annemarie Bourke is the MAI Featured Artist for March. Annemarie has a Gallery and Studio in O’Connell St., Limerick and regularly runs workshops for artists. She is a member of the Jury Panel of the International Watercolour Society, and is highly respected as an artist and a tutor. She paints in a wide range of media and styles, and the sea features strongly in her work. Her work is recognizable for its clarity in capturing light and for its fine use of colour balance.

Our Featured Artist for January is Gillian Murphy, who is based in Dublin. Her seascapes are inspired by the changeable Irish weather, and particularly by the mercurial moods of the Atlantic Ocean. She captures the raw energy of the wind and waves using a bold technique, with strong textures produced by using both brushes and pallet knives.

Patricia Kavanagh – our latest Featured Artist

Our latest featured artist Patricia Kavanagh is based in Galway. She’s a realist painter working mainly in oils and specialises in the ‘alla prima’, or wet-on-wet technique, as favoured by many of the Impressionist painters. This gives her work a fresh and spontaneous feel, and a great depth of colour.

Michael McGuire is based in Wexford, but is originally from Co. Kerry as is evidenced by the wild Atlantic waves and rugged coves of his seascapes. His fondness for painting “en plein air” is clear from the vivid colours and bold brushstrokes of his painting.
